Research Interests:
My research is the combination of methods and questions from two fields
Cognitive Psychology, where I reveal the basic processes the underlie behavior and learning
(e.g., perception), and the emerging field of Human-Computer Interaction, where I develop new ways for people to interact with the world using technology. In my lab we: (1) Conduct lab experiments to identify the cognitive mechanisms that enhance brain plasticity and learning in visual perception; (2) Perform field experiments to characterize the real-world experience of people with disabilities; and (3) Develop state-of-the-art technologies to assist them in daily activities.
